GREAT NEWS FROM HENRY FORK SERVICE CENTER

Henry Fork Service Center began a new project in November, 2010, called the Concert Series.  We have offered three concerts to date.  We started with a country Gospel group called the Haw Patch Mountain Boys, a local Franklin County group.  The number of people attending was small but enthusiastic.  Many new ideas were formed from this event.  We held two more concerts in 2011, once again the Haw Patch Mountain Boys and New Song, a group from Pittsylvania County, led by Ellen Petty.  The attendance grew at each concert.

Our first concert event for 2012 is scheduled for March 18, 3 P.M., at the Center in the large Children’s Activity Center, complete with sound system.

 NOW, HERE IS THE BIG NEWS.  We are offering a Hymn Fest event on March 18 to feature Danville, Roanoke, and Lynchburg District churches.  We know the talent that many of our churches have in the area of music. We are inviting all who would like to be part of this event to contact us.  We invite choirs, solos, instrumentals, groups, bell choirs, and liturgical dancing to participate.  

We ask those presenting to choose 2 or 3 (please) of your best numbers for this event.  There will be refreshments provided by the Board and the Center.  There will be a love offering taken for the Center that will be used to help pay our building loan and programming efforts.

 This concert series is a fund raising project that has provided much needed funds for the center, great fellowship and great fun.  We look forward to hearing from you.  In the event that the response is very large, we will offer an additional concert date to allow time for all to participate.  We were very excited about this event.  We pray you are interested and will join us on March 18, 2012 for the Hymn Fest.  We want to hear from you by February 10, 2012 for planning purposes.
